A magnificent celebration of National Uzbek Language Day in the USA.

On the occasion of the 29th of October, National Uzbek Language Day, the Timur Cultural and Social Association organized a grand gathering in Philadelphia. The event was attended by a number of intellectuals, social activists, women, artists, and active Afghan immigrants residing in the United States.

The event began with the recitation of verses from the Holy Quran, followed by valuable speeches highlighting the importance of the mother tongue and the status of the Uzbek language among the peoples of Afghanistan. The speakers emphasized the need for greater attention from government officials and community leaders toward the growth and development of the country’s widely spoken languages.

Officials of the Timorese Cultural and Social Association stated that the purpose of organizing this event was to promote the Uzbek language, introduce the authentic culture and values of the Uzbek community to the host country, and preserve the mother tongue for future generations born in exile and immigration.

The program continued with performances by two well-known Afghan Uzbek artists, Khair Mohammad Chavush and Kabir Kamal, who enlivened the atmosphere with beautiful and heartfelt songs. In addition, a special exhibition of traditional Uzbek cuisine was held, which was warmly welcomed by the guests.

At the conclusion of the event, participants expressed their appreciation to the organizers and called for strengthening the political and economic position of Uzbeks within the Afghan government. They also urged businessmen, educators, and scientific institutions to cooperate more seriously in promoting the Uzbek language, publishing textbooks, and producing scientific and cultural works in this language.
