Who we are
The Timur Cultural and Social Association (TCSA) was founded on April 12, 2025 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, at a community gathering of cultural figures, merchants, women, youth and committed intellectuals from the Afghan Uzbek community. We are a nonprofit, independent, non-political and non-ideological organization dedicated to safeguarding, strengthening and promoting the cultural, social and historical identity of the Turkic peoples of Afghanistan: Uzbeks, Turkmens and others who consider themselves part of the great Turkic nation.
Our mission is to keep the language, cultural heritage, good traditions and authentic values of the Turkic peoples of Afghanistan alive and to pass them on to future generations.
We encourage young people to take part in cultural, social, volunteer and civic activities, so that a new generation grows up informed, responsible and committed to human and cultural values. Through workshops, cultural events, seminars and community programs, we help them build confidence, leadership and a strong sense of identity.
Alongside the other communities of the United States, we work to strengthen solidarity, understanding, peaceful coexistence and public welfare, and we cooperate with cultural, social, educational and charitable organizations, universities and libraries.
